What is Dry Needling?

Trigger Point Dry Needling is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle placed into tight muscles or muscle knots.

Dry needling allows the therapist to reach very specific parts of the muscle and deeper layers of the tissues that are not accessible by hand.

Trigger points can be the cause of acute or chronic pain and can disrupt movement patterns. Through dry needling, a trigger point can be released, a painful area can be desensitized, and function can be restored.

What conditions can be treated with dry needling?

Dry needling can treat a variety of issues including:

  • Headaches
  • Neck/back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Sciatica
  • Hip and buttock pain
  • Knee pain
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Muscular strains/ligament sprains
  • Chronic pain
  • Tennis Elbow/Golfer’s Elbow
  • Don't let pain end your game

Our therapists can get you back in the game.

How is dry needling different than acupuncture?

Acupuncture is founded on traditional Chinese medicine whereas dry needling is based on anatomical and physiological principles. Dry needling has been around for approximately 40 years. It is founded by bio-scientific concepts and it continues to evolve using the latest research.
