Therapist Thursday Spotlight!
Meet Brenda Lee! Brenda is an Occupation Therapist (MOT, OTR/L) and works at multiple locations throughout our clinic.
A native of Emporia, Brenda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in sociology from Western State University in Gunnison, Co. She received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Rockhurst University in 2010. While attending graduate school, Brenda served as the student administrator for the Rockhurst University OT/PT Pro-Bono clinic in partnership with the Kansas City Free Health Clinic.
As a student, she worked with the Ministry of Health in Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies to support mental health reform and promote the field of occupational therapy.
From January 2011 to present, Brenda has worked to develop and grow the pediatric and adult outpatient program at Newman Regional Health alongside her colleagues. Brenda is certified in SASTM (Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) and Interactive Metronome as well as Astym Treatment.
Brenda’s clinical experience includes a variety of settings, including pediatric outpatients, adult inpatient rehabilitation, and adult outpatients. She is currently pursuing additional training and certification in hand therapy. Outside of work, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, teaching dance, hiking, and traveling.
