Therapist Thursday Spotlight!
Meet Lora Seacat! Lora works as a Physical Therapist (PT, DPT) in our outpatient physical therapy clinic.
Lora is a native of suburban Washington D.C. and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. She also has her Certified Spinal Manual Certification (CSMT) and her Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Certification (CMTPT), which has allowed her to practice dry needling. Lora is also certified in ASTYM treatment.
Lora says that her favorite childhood memory is when her father was a Capitol Police officer and they spent every 4th of July on the Capitol steps watching the national fireworks. College basketball and football are her favorite sports to watch and she was involved in lacrosse and soccer growing up. She says the most interesting place she has traveled to was Cuzco, Peru to Machu Picu. When asked about her favorite foods she says anything with cheese, bread or chocolate! She then states that her favorite place in Emporia to eat is Ichiban Asian Fusion. She enjoys cycling, reading, and refinishing furniture. Lora finds her job very rewarding and says that she enjoys teaching people about pain and teaching them to be in control of their pain management. It’s empowering to patients!
