– It is performed on the shoulder when medical interventions, such as other conservative surgeries, medication, and physical therapy no longer provide pain relief.
-There are three different types of shoulder replacements: total shoulder arthroplasty (head of humerus and socket of glenoid fossa are both replaced), hemiarthroplasty (head of humerus is replaced) and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (the ball and socket are replaced and reversed).
